Abstract
Athletes confront tremendous psychological and physiological demands in professional sports, making mental health an urgent issue. the mental health issues faced by elite athletes, with an emphasis on the factors that contribute to these issues, ways in which athletes deal with them, and the part played by support networks in these situations. Athletes are more likely to suffer from mental health issues including depression, anxiety, and burnout due to factors like performance anxiety, dread of failing, stress from injuries, public scrutiny, and job insecurity. a multi-method approach that examines the impact and management of mental health concerns on athletes by utilizing theories from psychology, data from empirical studies, and real-life examples. It emphasizes both healthy ways of dealing with stress, like meditation, therapy, and social support, and unhealthy ways, such abusing substances or avoiding other people emotionally. Access to mental health specialists, awareness campaigns, and legislative initiatives to decrease stigma are some of the institutional frameworks offered by sports organizations that the study goes on to assess.
