Abstract

This paper examines integrated reporting and corporate value creation from conceptual, practical and contemporary perspectives. The study discusses the development of the subject, major accounting practices, its contribution to organisational decision-making, technological changes, professional challenges and future directions. Accounting is increasingly understood as an information-based discipline that connects financial reporting with management, governance, risk assessment and stakeholder accountability. The paper adopts a conceptual approach and draws on established accounting literature and professional standards. It highlights the importance of reliable financial information, effective internal controls, ethical professional conduct and appropriate use of technology. The discussion also recognises that accounting practices are influenced by organisational circumstances, regulatory requirements and changes in the wider business environment. The paper concludes that the continuing relevance of accounting depends on its capacity to provide useful, credible and timely information while adapting to digital transformation and emerging expectations concerning transparency and accountability.
