Abstract

The Marabouts (Almoravids) and Sufi Orders Played a Key Role in Shaping Aspects of the Relationship between the Inhabitants of the Beylik of Eastern Algeria and the Ottoman Authorities. A Review of this Relationship reveals that it was Characterized by Rapprochement (Convergence) and Cordiality for Most Periods, particularly towards the End of Ottoman Rule, though Occasional Instances of Rebellion and Estrangement Occurred Under the Influence of Various Factors.

Therefore; We will Highlight the Manifestations of Rapprochement between the Ruling Authority and the Sufi Orders in the Eastern Beylik, in order to Showcase One of the Most Important Aspects of the Relationship between the Ruling Authority in the Beylik and those who represented the Sufi Orders in the Beylik Society. They Played a Prominent Role in Strengthening the Relationship between the Authority and the Tribes on the One Hand; And in Legitimizing the Authority in the Region and Benefiting from it on the Other Hand.
