Abstract

This study aims to investigate the reality of teaching physical and sports education at the primary school level, particularly in remote areas characterized by small pupil enrolments. Given the nature of the study, a descriptive methodology was adopted. The study sample consisted of 50 teachers from various primary schools located in remote areas of Tissemsilt Province. Data were collected using a systematically developed questionnaire comprising 26 items distributed across three dimensions: planning, implementation, and assessment. The data were processed and analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The main findings revealed that teachers face difficulties in planning and implementing physical and sports education lessons, whereas no significant difficulties were found in the assessment process. Based on these findings, the study proposes a set of recommendations and suggestions, including the need to integrate different educational stages within these institutions and to provide the necessary spaces, facilities, and resources for the effective implementation of physical and sports education lessons.
