Geographical encyclopedias documented accounts of China from early Muslim merchants and travelers, such as Al-Masudi and Ibn Battuta, who resided in its cities for extended periods. They grew fond of the region, purchasing land, constructing buildings and settling there permanently. These records provide a rich history of political, economic, and social events, with particular emphasis on customs and traditions. Examining public life in China is crucial for understanding the lifestyles and experiences of the Chinese people, while also highlighting shared characteristics with the people of India.
